Funny thing is, I have never received a newsletter from Twitter. Nor any other communication since signing up.

Or you have and it is really just me?

Maybe they haven’t figured it out yet. Probably thousands of others like me have explicitly given them the permission to speak directly to me. And they’re not jumping on to this? They need to read a Godin.

Or they haven’t hired anyone to do this. Or set it up? Too busy on the technology or how to monetise perhaps?

  • I agree wholeheartedly. They seem really slow to react to changes around them. Anyone who's come into Twitter will question "Isn't this way too simple?", "what's the value of this?". Then they discover stuff that other people have built on top of Twitter, that's when the real fun begin.

    It would be interesting though to hear what is Twitter's strategy for the long run.
  • No need to build a list but I think no need for a newsletter when they have access to every twitter acct made.
  • Nobody should be surprised when Twitter management does something stupid. They're days seem to be spent running like rear sled dogs to catch up to the Twitter movement. They need their own Eric Schmidt (CEO of Google) to take them out of startup mode and into running like a real company. Clearly Ev is over his head.
  • I hadn't notice! An excellent question regarding branding in the web2.0 era!
